Our Story
Founded in 2020 and registered as LeKasi Productions Pty Ltd (Reg: 2020/937528/07), we began as a small studio in Cape Town driven by a simple belief: that great music shouldn't be locked behind resources, connections, or geography.
The name "LeKasi" — township slang for the location, the hood — is a deliberate nod to where we come from and who we serve. Authentic voices. Real stories. Music that matters.
Through strategic partnerships, innovative platforms, and cultural programming, we cultivate sustainable creative ecosystems that unlock economic opportunity and expand market access for artists.
Our work provides opportunities to creatives from under-resourced communities to participate fully in the creative economy — reaching audiences locally and globally.

How We Got Here
The Beginning
LeKasi Productions Pty Ltd is officially registered in Cape Town with a simple mission: make professional music accessible, built around and for the township.
LeKasi Records Founded
We launch LeKasi Records, our in-house label, built to sign, develop, and release music by South African artists who have something real to say.
First Artist Signed
Enkosi Camagu becomes the first artist signed to LeKasi Records, with the debut record produced and released under the label — the moment LeKasi's sound takes shape.
ArtWorks Partnership
LeKasi enters a full partnership with ArtWorks, deepening its investment in the communities that raised it — workshops, mentorship, and creative opportunity for young people.
Live Events Launch
We begin producing large-scale live events — gospel nights and cultural concerts across the Western Cape — and the response is overwhelming.
Going National
With artists performing across South Africa and distribution reaching global streaming platforms, LeKasi Productions continues to grow its footprint — fulfilling its founding vision.

LeKasi Records is the recording label division of LeKasi Productions — built to sign, develop, and release music by South African artists who have something real to say.
We offer recording deals, production support, distribution to major streaming platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music and more), publishing administration, and hands-on artist development — all under one roof.
Our roster spans Afro-Soul, Gospel, Jazz, Soul, Maskandi, and Dance — a deliberate reflection of South Africa's diverse musical heritage. Every artist we sign is given the space, time, and tools to make music that lasts.
