ArtWorks is LeKasi Productions' community initiative — dedicated to youth development, music education, and creating pathways for the next generation of South African creatives.
Community Engagement
LeKasi Productions in the Community
Beyond the stage and studio, our ArtWorks artists give their time and talent to projects that uplift and unite communities across Cape Town.

“I Am Light”
Every year, the Mama Project brings together an inspiring community of women from different communities and backgrounds to share life, encourage one another, and journey together. This year, over 60 women gathered once again to create, reflect, and celebrate the light within.
LeKasi Productions had the joy of once again contributing to this project — with our artist Sibu “MaBhayeni” and the band helping curate the music and movement for the women's final presentation, while LeKasi Productions supplied the sound and instruments for the performance. Seeing the ladies take to the stage with such confidence, joy, and unity was a beautiful reminder of what can happen when people create together.

Our Purpose
Art as a Tool for Change
LeKasi means "the location" — the hood. It's where we come from. ArtWorks was born out of a conviction that the talent in our communities is world-class, but the opportunity to develop it is not.
Through ArtWorks, we run free programmes that give young people access to studio time, mentorship from industry professionals, and real performance platforms — things that would otherwise cost money they don't have.
Several of our signed artists began their journey through ArtWorks. For us, community is not a marketing exercise — it's where our roots are.
